Corporate social responsibility

2405_15-Groene draad labels_EngelsDekker Zevenhuizen is a real family-owned business, and continuity is our main goal. This is why we believe corporate social responsibility is a matter of course. This involves much more than just the environment. It encompasses the entire context of business, including human, environmental and economic facets. This loyalty to the future applies to the design of the production process as well as to how we engage with our staff, the supply chain, and the immediate environment.

Clear. Sustainable. Design.

We believe that everyone should enjoy beautiful design, convenience, and comfort while being mindful of the world around us. This is the guiding principle that runs through our company philosophy.

CSR Management

Dekker endorses the principles of Corporate Social Responsibility as outlined in the ISO 26000 guideline. We utilise the CSR Register to implement and clarify these principles for all stakeholders. Our CSR management system includes a CSR impact analysis and integration of stakeholder interests. This results in a materiality matrix that highlights the CSR topics relevant to our company and stakeholders. All this information is available in our annual CSR report. To prove our commitment and avoid 'greenwashing,' we have our results evaluated by Fira Sustainability, consistently achieving the highest score of 5 stars for several years.

Dekker since 1930

1930-1

Gijsbert Dekker

Gijsbert Dekker started in 1930 in Zevenhuizen with the production and sale of wooden furniture. At a later point in time, the production of kitchen countertops was added.

1950-1

Arie Dekker

The son of Gijsbert, Arie Dekker, took over the company. Under his leadership between 1950 and 1998, Dekker experienced significant growth, including the establishment of a new factory in 1986 and the acquisition of the Zevenhuizen location in 1994.

1998

New management

In 1998, Arie Dekker retired. From this point onwards, daily management was no longer in the hands of the Dekker family. To preserve the values of the family business, the STAK was established. In this foundation, the Dekker family has control and guides the family's values.

2013-1

Acquisition of production sites

In the following years, Dekker continued to grow and underwent several acquisitions, such as Erbi in 2013 and Topline in 2020, followed by a new production site in Wijchen in 2022.

2020-1

Dekker Trend Centre also in Germany

Following the successful opening of the Trend Centre in Zevenhuizen in 2018, a Trend Centre was established in Löhne, Germany, in 2022.

2023

Emphasis on sustainable materials

Following the successful introduction of the sustainable Greengridz in 2012, Dekker introduced two new circular kitchen countertops in 2023: Cosmolite and Obsidiana.

Contemporary work- and production methods

Dekker is an internationally operating company with factories and warehouses among the most modern and efficient in Europe. Continuous process innovation and ongoing training of skilled employees ensure customers can rely on high-quality and distinctive products, delivered on time as agreed.
